Happy Thanksgiving!
I know this is a little late, but I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving! I spent mine with my beautiful family, including the cutest-stinking-bright-eyed-pink-cheeks-baby around! I hope you had LOTS of turkey and took a good, long nap!

Passing It On
When I moved this past May, I made a promise to myself that I was going to stick with the same duvet cover all the way through grad school! If you know me, you also know this is a challenge!! Hopefully, this promise will combat my obsession with change/pottery barn! I have spotted the cutest duvet cover from pottery barn and since I am not allowing myself to change mine, someone else has to change theirs!! Guess what??... I'm picking you!

Fun Facts About Us
Here are some fun facts about our bodies a la Heather Long from this website!
The Brain, the brain, the center of the chain (only the true baby sitter's club fans know the rest of this tune)-
Your brain weighs about three pounds and all but 10 ounces of it is water. So, technically speaking, we're all water heads and no one is an airhead.
If you stub your toe, it takes only 1/50th of a second for your brain to register the pain.
We're all dim bulbs, because our brains use less power than 100-watt bulb.
Flex Your Face-
It can take about 200,000 frowns to make a permanent wrinkle. So the next time you notice a wrinkle, smile and stop frowning, 200,000 frowns is more than enough!
We're all Pinocchio's. The cartilage in our noses doesn't stop growing. We can expect to grow ½ inch longer and wider as we get older.
If we're freckled, they stop appearing usually around the age of 19 or 20.
To speak just one word, you use 70 muscles - just one word - think about the workout someone doing a filibuster uses!
We have more than 200 taste buds on each of the small bumps on our tongue. 200! So when we're savoring flavor, we're definitely savoring.
Women have a far more developed sense of smell than men do and women really notice the difference in their sense of smell during pregnancy and after they've given birth to one child. According to some women, their sense of smell grows more acute with each child they have.
Our Bodies
When we breathe, the air passes through our nose at about 4 miles per hour and we breathe roughly 400 gallons of air every hour. It's a good thing air is free.
We have about 18 square feet of skin. Our bones are about four times stronger than steel and they can endure 24,000 pounds of pressure per square inch. And it takes about 150 days for a nail to grow from our cuticles to our fingertips.

How To Be Lovely
Browzing through all the "girly" books at B&N, I stumbled across this book! What a treasure! How To Be Lovely is a collection of interviews by Audrey Hepburn on the mechanics of being a lady! This book is precious, and great for someone like me and all were never able to observe the gracious life of a beloved role-model. In the words of the great Audrey, “For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”

DEPRESSED
Yes, it was announced last Friday that the Oprah show is ending in September 2011. I. Am. Depressed. I have watched Oprah ever since I was a small child, while waiting for dinner to be on the table. In undergrad, I even scheduled my classes around the show! I watch the show every day, and I don't know what I will do with myself when it ends!! I even have the 20th anniversary box set, have watched it over and over again, and cry every single time. Oprah is someone who has inspired me for years. The reason I love Oprah so much is because she does (in a way) what I want to do with my life! She advocates for many, many people/organizations and promotes press for them! I also respect her greatly for overcoming racism waaay back when, and for making something out of herself even from the worst circumstances. Did you know that she was supposed to be named Orpah, but her parents didn't have the education to spell?! Great person, good heart. I will be very sad to see her show go!

I am probably the worst person on the face of the earth to keep a secret! This year, my lips are sealed and I am throwing away the key!!

"In God We Trust"
We are now a month and 15 days away from... CHRISTMAS! My all-time favorite Christmas movie is Miracle On 34th Street.. the old one and the new one! Due to my recent situation, I have been thinking a lot about the scene where one of the main characters hands a dollar bill to the judge with the words, "In God We Trust" circled. My favorite part of the movie, and words that I try to live by every day! What are you doing to get in the mood for Christmas?

Sickling Ickling
Ewweey! I absolutely detest being sick! It's SO gross! Thank goodness I don't have my old roommate chasing me around with hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes! This is just a reminder to get the Flu/Swine Flu shot so you don't end up like me!!!! I know it's a shot, but seriously, do it (especially if you are around little ones)!
