My Top 5
Everyone needs ideas right about now for presents, right?? And I'm assuming you want to do it on a (dare I say the word) budget. Well, here are my top 5 suggestions!
5. A unique picture frame, like this one! Personalize it with a super-cute picture!
4. Greeting cards! Everyone needs them, and these are FABULOUS!
3. Self-made wall art! Every wall deserves a facelift now and then... paint your own canvas here!
2. For all the wine lovers out there, a wine membership is always a great idea!
1. My most prized possession... that I take everywhere! I am thoroughly a believer of giving my personal favorites to other people as gifts! You know people are going to need a new planner for the new year! Try this one in Blue Rhapsody from Vera Bradley. It's my favorite, and let's just say I'm picky!

Passing It On
When I moved this past May, I made a promise to myself that I was going to stick with the same duvet cover all the way through grad school! If you know me, you also know this is a challenge!! Hopefully, this promise will combat my obsession with change/pottery barn! I have spotted the cutest duvet cover from pottery barn and since I am not allowing myself to change mine, someone else has to change theirs!! Guess what??... I'm picking you!

Fun Facts About Us
Here are some fun facts about our bodies a la Heather Long from this website!
The Brain, the brain, the center of the chain (only the true baby sitter's club fans know the rest of this tune)-
Your brain weighs about three pounds and all but 10 ounces of it is water. So, technically speaking, we're all water heads and no one is an airhead.
If you stub your toe, it takes only 1/50th of a second for your brain to register the pain.
We're all dim bulbs, because our brains use less power than 100-watt bulb.
Flex Your Face-
It can take about 200,000 frowns to make a permanent wrinkle. So the next time you notice a wrinkle, smile and stop frowning, 200,000 frowns is more than enough!
We're all Pinocchio's. The cartilage in our noses doesn't stop growing. We can expect to grow ½ inch longer and wider as we get older.
If we're freckled, they stop appearing usually around the age of 19 or 20.
To speak just one word, you use 70 muscles - just one word - think about the workout someone doing a filibuster uses!
We have more than 200 taste buds on each of the small bumps on our tongue. 200! So when we're savoring flavor, we're definitely savoring.
Women have a far more developed sense of smell than men do and women really notice the difference in their sense of smell during pregnancy and after they've given birth to one child. According to some women, their sense of smell grows more acute with each child they have.
Our Bodies
When we breathe, the air passes through our nose at about 4 miles per hour and we breathe roughly 400 gallons of air every hour. It's a good thing air is free.
We have about 18 square feet of skin. Our bones are about four times stronger than steel and they can endure 24,000 pounds of pressure per square inch. And it takes about 150 days for a nail to grow from our cuticles to our fingertips.

How To Be Lovely
Browzing through all the "girly" books at B&N, I stumbled across this book! What a treasure! How To Be Lovely is a collection of interviews by Audrey Hepburn on the mechanics of being a lady! This book is precious, and great for someone like me and all were never able to observe the gracious life of a beloved role-model. In the words of the great Audrey, “For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”

Seeing the Light at the End of the Tunnel
As of now, I am 1/3 of the way DONE with my presentations!!!! The only things left to do are to finish my counseling development plan for an imaginary school and to do/submit my practicum application!! I can not believe how fast Thanksgiving break got here, much less how fast this program is going! Practicum already?? In case you want another mathematical figure, I am 3/5 of the way done with my last presentation! WHEW! What a semester! I heard next semester will be a doozie with Dr. Smelly-breath-frowny-face-auburn-lover-bama-hater! Yes, brutal but you guys know who I'm talking about!! Remember a certain interview I came out of crying?? Should be interesting! Please cross your fingers that I'll make it, I'm soooo ready for a break! Are you guys ready for turkey day???

DEPRESSED
Yes, it was announced last Friday that the Oprah show is ending in September 2011. I. Am. Depressed. I have watched Oprah ever since I was a small child, while waiting for dinner to be on the table. In undergrad, I even scheduled my classes around the show! I watch the show every day, and I don't know what I will do with myself when it ends!! I even have the 20th anniversary box set, have watched it over and over again, and cry every single time. Oprah is someone who has inspired me for years. The reason I love Oprah so much is because she does (in a way) what I want to do with my life! She advocates for many, many people/organizations and promotes press for them! I also respect her greatly for overcoming racism waaay back when, and for making something out of herself even from the worst circumstances. Did you know that she was supposed to be named Orpah, but her parents didn't have the education to spell?! Great person, good heart. I will be very sad to see her show go!

Who is in the mood for Christmas?? ME! ME! ME! I got all my Christmas shopping done today minus the daddies! If anyone wants to know, call and ask me! I am about to spill! I am probably the worst person on the face of the earth to keep a secret! This year, my lips are sealed and I am throwing away the key!!

"In God We Trust"
We are now a month and 15 days away from... CHRISTMAS! My all-time favorite Christmas movie is Miracle On 34th Street.. the old one and the new one! Due to my recent situation, I have been thinking a lot about the scene where one of the main characters hands a dollar bill to the judge with the words, "In God We Trust" circled. My favorite part of the movie, and words that I try to live by every day! What are you doing to get in the mood for Christmas?

Love, Rosie
I stay up reeeaally late when I get into a book! Love, Rosie is the story of two best friends, a boy and a girl. They write letters back and forth to each other and the book is written in the form of letters and online chat rooms. They are both secretly in love with each other, and their secrets are not exposed until they are 50 years old! Great story! I am making a promise to myself that I am going to pass on all of my books because, well, my bookshelf is a little full! So... who wants it??

Somewhere Over The Rainbow
OK OK, so I know this post is reeeally super late! For Halloween, we went to Dukey's sister's house! It was there that I saw the most precious little girl dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz! Growing up, I was Dorothy every year minus the first year, where Galibo dressed me up in this ridiculous costume as a clown. My little face was covered in paint and I even had triangles painted on my above and below my eyes! I wore a hidious bright orange wig, and I still accuse Galibo of getting a laugh at my expense! Worse than wearing the costume itself, scrubbing the paint off my face was the worst! What were you guys for Halloween??

Books-A-Million
I have been going to Books-A-Million for a long time! They have this clearance section for books on the cheap-o, that I definitely thought was buzz-worthy! Most of the books retail for under $6! They rotate the books that are in this section each month, so the selection never gets old! Hooray for cheap books! Nothing irks me more than paying $20+ for a book I am going to read once! Where do you get your books? Do you check out or do you break into your piggy bank??

Coffee..On the go!
Oh, yes they did it!!!! Starbucks has created a new coffee on-the-go!! They come in little packets (like crystal light packets or something)! All you do is add some hot water and... PRESTO! It comes in Columbian (medium) and Italian (extra bold) roasts! Neat-o! You can also purchase a mug that holds the packets, so you can take them wherever you go! This product would be easy for anyone to use if you drink as much coffee as I do! Mine is definitely getting some use at, say, a certain Dukey's apartment... where there is never any coffee! Can you believe that??

Party Hardy
My family and friends got to celebrate the engagement of our wittle boy, Triple Dip, and our BLC!! Oooey! It was fun, fun! Some very gracious family friends threw a party at the hanger and we also had a shower! BLC got loads of kitchen necessities, and we had a ball! I was so glad to see them and am so, so happy for them! Congrats to you both again! So happy we could celebrate together!

My Little Cookie
So, Oprah answered all of my questions the other day about what to do with my booty! She announced that she found her new favorite jeans for her booty! Being a big-bootied girl, I love that there are now designer jeans to fit me! What kind of blogger would I be if I didn't let you in on this secret?? These jeans were designed by Cookie Johnson, with just the right amount of give! Aren't they cute??

Something Borrowed, Something Blue
These books were recommended to me over and over again, and I have read them over and over again! Emily Giffin tells a story all about a true friendship, even through some tough times! The two main girls in these books share everything, but the tsunami of friendship overtakes them. It all goes south when one of the girls finds out her "something borrowed" is her fiance!! Hysterical, practical, and all about true love! What could be better?! Definitely a must-read!

Cold Front Comin' In
Remember how I told you that you needed a "signature trench"?? Well, you really need it...now! I absolutely loathe winter clothes. I think they were invented just to add about 20 lbs. to everyone! If you feel the same as me, you have to try out this peacoat from Tulle. Amazing. Inexpensive. Cute as a button! You can find them at any of your local boutiques, just in time for winter! AND they come in every color of the rainbow!!

Peek-A-Boo
So... I got to babysit again after a loooong break! Poor little SC had the sniffles and a cough, so she had to stay home from preschool! Before you feel sorry for her, don't worry, she had no trouble at all keeping me busy! She hid from me all day (all I had to do to get her back was lay in the floor and...BOOM! Bomb dropping right on my stomach with a running start)!! Of course, this was followed by A LOT of laughter (she loves it when I get hurt)! We also ran laps around the house after the consumption of A. Capri Sun(s) yes, there was more than one, and B. my chocolate meal replacement bar I discovered was eaten by the smear of chocolate all over her face! WOW, what a day! Let's just say I'm not going to have any trouble going to sleep tonight!

Go Shawty, It's Your Birthday!
I know this is a little late, but I have been visiting with the Galebo for her birthday!! We went out to dinner and had a girls' night watching the best T.V. shows! Galebo, you are the best mommy I could ever ask for and I hope you had SO MUCH fun on your birthday! I'm so glad I got to spend it with you!!!

Some More Thanks
I thought this was important enough to deserve it's own post! Thank you, thank you, thank you a million times over to Dukey's mom and dad! They kept Noah again the entire weekend while we were out of town!! They are so special to me and I am forever grateful for not having to board Noah up with all the big dogs! I know he had a TON of fun because he has been asleep ever since! I will never be able to repay you enough for all that you do!!

Giving Thanks
Every day, I am learning more and more how important good friends are! I am very blessed to have some of the best friends on the planet! This weekend, Dukey and I made our way to T-town to see our long lost friends and go to our first Alabama game this year!! Can you believe that?? I can't! My big sister graciously opened up her home to us and for that, I am very thankful! Y'all are the BEST! On Friday, we went out to eat at KOBE (my first time) and on Saturday, biggy cooked awesome tailgating food and we went off to the game! Biggy also went to all the trouble to get Dukey and me tickets to the game! Thank you, thank you for a wonderful weekend and for being so dependable! Sleepover at my APT next time! haha

The End of My Relationship With Dukey
I have the funniest story you have heard all day. Dukey has threatened to break up with me for telling it, but I told him I simply could not deprive my friends and family of this hilarity. So this weekend when Dukey was visiting, we were awake at say, 3 a.m., at which "the incident" took place. We were bored out of our minds and sitting in my living room. Dukey then begins to tell me how in high school, he could jump off things really softly. Did I care? Obviously not. Did he care that I didn't care? Absolutely not. I have this chest below my window in which I put spare blankets and pillows. Dukey climbs onto and says "watch this and then you'll believe me!" So he preps himself... And jumps!! Two seconds later, KABLAM!!!!! I seriously thought my apartment building was going to collapse. And Dukey is on the ground... whining about something. When he jumped off, his big toe bent under and snap, crackle, popped! When I went over to him to see if he was okay, he looked at me and said, "I really can do it. I just messed up. Seriously though, I can do it!!!" His toe turned bright red and swelled up. He laid down on my couch and I got him an ice pack (needless to say, I had so much trouble getting the ice because I was laughing so hard). For the next hour, I heard all about the fact that he really could jump quietly. To this day, he is still trying to convince me of such! I did feel sorry for him, but it was just too funny not to laugh! So here it is, I am probably officially kicked to the curb after this post. Oh, what a blogger will do for her viewers!

Premier!!!
Just in case you didn't know, the premier of The Girls Next Door premiers TONIGHT!!! Sure, I'm skeptical about the "new girls" and all! Holly, Bridget, and Kendra will always be my "girls next door" but I figure I have to give it a chance, right?? I mean, the "old three" were the reasons why I started watching it in the first place but I have to admit, the show is entertaining! It's always interesting to me to be able to watch the way other people live who are sooooo different from me! Don't judge, Haters! Although, I have to admit that it was not easy finding a pic of these three fully clothed! Maybe I should be re-thinking this...

Smashing Pumpkins
Don't worry, I didn't smash a pumpkin on a car like the poor cantaloupe... But I did carve one!!! It was the perfect activity to get ready for F-A-L-L! Dukey's is on the left, mine on the right, and Noey's in the middle! What do you think?? P.S. Don't you think my little punkin did a good job on his baby one?? And I will dispose of these properly :)

L.A. Candy
Have I read it? Yes. Am I a teensy bit embarrassed? Yup. Should you read it? Ooooh yeah! OK, so what if I read it before class and when people ask me what I am reading, I close it upside down so they can't see the cover?? Mind your own bee's wax! Lauren Conrad's book about an L.A. Newbsy who is asked if she wants to be the star of a reality TV show. Fact or Fiction? The jury's still out! Next on the list: Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol (yes, I know book titles are supposed to be underlined but I can't figure out how to do it)!!!

evolution.of.smooth.
This shaving cream was recommended to me by Tini... And I am obsessed!! Coming from a person who shaves her legs every day in the shower and it grows back 5 seconds later when I get chill bumps, it works!! It protects against nicks and bumps.. Perfect for winter! The vanilla bliss scent is my favorite, but it also comes in island blue, lavender jasmine and pomegranate raspberry! How fun! It retails at Target for $11.99 for a pack of three and individually sold for about $3! Works like a charm!
