Story Time

Thanks to BLC at The Company She Keeps for tagging me! If you are tagged, you have to tell your favorite childhood book! Here is mine...If You Give A Mouse A Cookie! I L-O-V-E this book... still! In the sign language class I took last summer, I even learned how to sign it!! How cool is that! Some other favorites include The Giving Tree, The Adventures of Alice In Wonderland, Charlotte's Web, Goodnight Moon, and Love You Forever. What did you like to read as a tot??

Rain, Rain, Please Don't Go Away

After a day of driving, putting together porch furniture, and packing, I am ecstatic for some rain and some time to enjoy it! I just LOVE rainy days (especially when I get to cuddle up in my homey apartment). I have been catching up with friends, sex and the city, and some writing! Just the sound of rain is comforting to me...I think back to when I lived at home with my parents and could hear the rain on the roof and fall asleep for hours (partially because I have no windows in my room). I am thoroughly enjoying my day of rain! What do you like to do when it pours??

Sass-A-Frass

So...I have recieved a few requests, all in one day! (1.) To add a picture of BFF on the side of my blog. (2.)To dedicate a post to my college roommate, Sassy!! Here it goes...Sassy and I met on Easter Sunday at my church over four years ago. I scared her off by bombarding her about living with me, but she soon came around! We lived together all 4 years of college and finally split when we both graduated! So sad :( Anyways, Sassy has become one of my closest & lifelong friends! I am so proud of her and all that she has accomplished since graduation!! My best memories of Sassy include me coming home from Rome to our Tutwiler dorm room (it looked like Pepto Bismol), and finding Sassy sitting on the floor crying. When I asked her what was wrong, she said "Sadly, I am me". I laughed at her for hours and told her she reminded me of Eor from Winnie the Pooh. She began laughing, like she always did! (1.)She is going to kill me for this. (2.)Getting on Sassy's nerves is one of my favorite pasttimes. (3.) I laughed at her for a good 4 years after this incident. Since then, Sassy has developed into a strong person with many accomplishments. She is beautiful on both, the inside and outside! Have so much fun in Hawaii and remember to shake your Honolulu!!

P.S. Sassy and I are looking forward to the day we are finished writing our books and we have vowed to be the 1st one in line to buy a copy of each other's! Good luck, sugar!

Booty-licious

There's no doubt about it, this girl is H-O-T! For me, her booty(licious) figure trumps the stick-thin pencil figures I have admired my enire life! Kim Kardashian (sans sex tape) is one of my favorite role models because she embraces her curvacious figure! For the past 21 years of my life, I have oogled runway models and shunned myself for not having the same pencil-like resemblance. Kim is definitely readjusting my vision by flaunting her hour-glass shape! For years, my Mimi always told me that it was not a bad thing to have some curves, and I am finally believing her! Sorry it took so long, Mimi! Who inspires you to love your body, or in my case, booty??

Flutterly Precious

As I was searching for a baby gift for my expecting friend, Kel Bell, I came across this sweet little bubble! OMG IN LOVE!! This little outfit is too cute for me to stand it! I was distraught when I found the adorable and perfect little bubble was only available in 3-6 months! UGH! I am talking ultimate disappointment. Don't you worry though, Lilly is on the lookout! What could be more perfect than a bubble with seersucker, dragonflies, AND BOWS?? You got it, nothing. If anyone knows of anywhere else I can look, puuhhlleeaase let me know! I am in dire need!

Only 5 Dolla More

Today, I got a call from my college friend, Diddy. She told me how she went to a local nail salon and heard the exact words of Anjelah Johnson, my favorite comedian! We used to watch her videos over and over again, laughing hysterically each time! This is my favorite of Anjelah Johnson's videos, although you should also check out my second favorite, Bon Qui Qui. Praise for The Nail Salon!

Life's A Beach

Today, Galebo and I met in Kennesaw and shopped until we dropped. We were so surprised when the Dukey showed up to help (he hates to shop with me)!! We were searching for some patio chairs for me because she insists the fold-out tailgating chairs I have are not appropriate. We spotted these wonderful adirondak rockers and fell in love! I figure I can sit in these and pretend I am at the beach every day!! This is awesome! I chose the spa blue color (third from the left)! I absoloutely LOVE them! I can't wait to sit in them every morning and start the day off right! Woohoo for a little piece of the beach every day!!!

Roy.G.Biv.

For all of you who were worried, I passed all my classes with flying colors!! Whoo hoo! My whole class and I celebrated at the local Irish Pub and then moved it on over to my APT! I currently have three weeks to do absoloutely nothing! Wonderful! I decided to take a trip to the ATL and see the Dukey! Once I got there, we went grocery shopping and watched the Braves game (well, I read Chasing Harry Winston and Dukey watched the Braves game). I am looking forward to a long break, plenty of sleep, and reading every summer book I can get my hands on! When was the last time you had a break??

The Snuggie

O.K. friends, I have to make fun of you for a second...Y'all have seen those ridiculous commercials for The Snuggie, right? Yep, it's a blanket with arms! I have laughed at these commercials since the first time I saw one. I also made fun of my roommate, Sassy, for purchasing one. Tonight, I was talking to Tini-bopper on the phone and she preceded to tell me a story about Friday night. She said, "I was throwing up all night...In my snuggie". After a few giggles from yours truly, she said matter-of-factly, "What?! I mean, I got the pink one!!" I preceded to laugh hysterically and we finally had to end our conversation because I was so tickled. This story made my day! If you have not researched The Snuggie, PLEASE do so!

Busted!

Provided by a student at Duke University:

One year, at Duke, there were these two guys who were taking Chemistry and who did pretty well on all of the quizzes and the midterms and labs, such that going into the final they had a solid A. These two friends were so confident going into the final that the weekend before finals week (even though the Chemistry final was on Monday), they decided to go up to Virginia and party with some friends up there. So they did this and had a great time. However, with their hangovers and everything, they overslept all day Sunday and didn't make it back to Duke until early Monday morning.

Rather than taking the final then, what they did was to find Professor Bonk after the final and explain to him why they missed the final. They told him that they went up to UV for the weekend, and had planned to come back in time to study, but that they had a flat tire on the way back and didn't have a spare and couldn't get help for a long time and so were late getting back to campus. Bonk thought this over and then agreed that they could make up the final on the following day. The two guys were elated and relieved.

So, they studied that night and went in the next day at the time that Bonk had told them. He placed them in separate rooms and handed each of them a test booklet and told them to begin. They looked at the first problem, which was something simple about morality and solutions and was worth 5 points. "Cool" they thought, "this is going to be easy." They did that problem and then turned the page. They were unprepared, however, for what they saw on the next page.

It said: (95 points) Which tire?

This story was told to our class on Thursday and followed by my teacher warning us "if you ever want to lie about missing a test, make sure you have your details in order!"

16 Candles

Happy Birthday to Dukey's mommy!! Last year, we celebrated her birthday with a surprise birthday party a la Pizza Farm! Mmmmm! Sadly enough, I will not be in town this year to celebrate with her, so I thought it would be a good idea to send her a happy birthday via Cyberspace! Apparently my teachers knew it was a time of celebration because today was our last counseling session! Hoorah!!! I wish I was able to celebrate with you in person!

P.S. Everyone knows you are only turning 16 again!!!

"The Proposal"

Lo and I went to see "The Proposal" today and catch up on a little shopping! Okay...So it was a lot of shopping! You caught me! I absolutely LOVED this movie... It is definitely my summer pick! If you are questioning yourself about going to see it, DO IT! It is a classic chick flick, so leave your man at home! Now, it's off to writing a 2-page paper, a 20-page paper, a transcript, and another 2-page paper! Woopeyyy!!!!! I am totally channeling the little engine that could!

Sleep Disturbances

For the past 6 years of my life, I have turned the channel to Nick at Nite before falling asleep. You can imagine my frustration when I recently flipped the TV on for my before-bed routine, and that same routine had been totally disrupted. UGH! I searched for my usual episodes of Family Matters and George Lopez and there it was.... Malcolm In The Middle. What is this crud? Nick at Nite is really pulling this on me now? Wow. Right in the midst of grad school when I have nothing better to do but wait for my TV shows to come on so I can go to sleep! Let's just say I have been experiencing a little insomnia from this unexpected change, and trouble waking up in the morning! This channel was perfect for putting me to sleep and waking me up in the morning with heinously annoying songs from Dora The Explorer playing over and over and over again! I think Nick at Nite is due for a little complaint made by yours truly! HAHA like I would ever....I mean I could not be the only one with my panties in a bunch because of their big change, right?! I keep telling myself plenty of others have had to write in or something by now... Yeah, I'm sure there are dozens of people who wait all day for these shows to come on, lull them to sleep, and serve as alarm clock in the morning!

Making a Pagan a Christian

Yesterday, we put on our Sunday's best to hit B'ham for the Baptism of the most beautiful baby I have ever seen in my entire life! Little ML was so happy to be there that she didn't even cry when the priest poured Holy water on her! After the Baptism, ML celebrated by being the guest of honor at a party and socializing until her pretty blue eyes could not stand to stay open anymore! This baby is in store for many more parties and a lot more socializing. Good thing she is so good at it already!

Wanted: Intoxicated or Sunburnt.

Happy 21st birthday to my cousin, Caitlin! Even though we were not able to celebrate, I am looking forward to buying this girl a birthday shot next time we are together! It's about time she is legal to party like a rock star! Luckily, she has a birthday vacation to substitute! Happy 21st birthday, Caitlin, you are officially making me feel old...

Reunited!

I recently reunited with my BFF, Tini-bopper, at Birmingham's La Paz! It was so good to see her (and new bf )! We started off the night with a few of La Paz's strawberry margaritas and then trucked it to a new bar downtown! Thanks to the Posie, we had time to reminisce (and laugh) about college with my very own Dukey!! I can not WAIT to do it again! Love you, tini-bopper, I am waiting to mark my calender for your long-awaited visit to C-ton! When was the last time you reminisced with a college BFF??

Hang 10

This is for the one and only BLC! Thanks for tagging me! So here's my 10 things you didn't know about me! 1. I label everything, including my bf, with my new label maker! Lame, I know. 2. I watch a disc of LOST every day. 3. People watching is one of my all-time fave past times! 4. In elementary school, my teachers used to call me "freckle juice". 5. I want to be Marissa Cooper from The O.C. and tend to call my friends "Sum" in hopes that they will call me "Coop" back. 6. I have diagnosed myself with OCD because of my freakishly clean/organized apartment. 7. I wake up ever morning to my iPod because my day starts off so much better when I wake up peacefully. 8. I am terribly afraid of Popsicle Sticks. Ew. 9. I sit on my balcony every day and watch the sun set because I think it is the most beautiful thing in the world. 10. Due to my lack of blog friends, I sadly can not tag anyone. I might as well just smack a big "L" on my forehead. I hope you enjoyed this! Soon to come: friends. Hopefully!

Represent.

I am sitting on a feather! haha Literally. I. Can. NOT. Stop. Laughing. after tonight's episode of 16 and Pregnant! This episode took place in my hometown,  Rome, GA. Note to reader: The only claims to fame this little town have are Marcus Dixon (a widely known sex offender), a really neat guy on American Idol who thought he was Michael Jackson, and now this. Wonderful! I promise all of the Romans are not like this! All I can say about this is: if you can't beat 'em, join 'em and do as the Romans do! I am only hoping the landlord they are talking about isn't my dad, Howie.....

The not-so-one-piece-one piece

Okay, news flash!!! The in-betweenie-bikini-one-piece does not hide anything you think it does! When Lo and I were at the pool today, we spotted a forty-something woman walking with her family around the pool to find a spot in the shade. Let me tell you, this woman thought she was chic. And was sooo not! She had a bathing suit on sort of like this one with a humungo floppy hat. Not something I want to see! So unless you are younger than the big 4-0 and have something to hide, hide it! A classic one piece or tankini is always the way to go! As for me, I've been drinking my hatorade! Can ya tell?? haha

Coke Machine vs. Slot Machine

So today at school, my teacher thought it would be fun to enlighten our class on something I thought was pretty interesting. Greeeaaattt. Anyways, he explained to us that when coke machines take people's money, they tend to try the machine one or two more times before giving up. He proposed that the idea of a coke machine is expected to give you the drink of your choice every time you slip your money in. When it fails, people lose hope. Person wants something out of the drink machine, puts money in, person expects to get a coke and doesn't, and person doesn't want to try again for fear of losing money. He compared this scenario with a slot machine.  Person wants something out of the slot machine, person inserts money, person is almost guaranteed not to get anything back, and person continues to keep trying and keeps losing money. Isn't that funny to think about?! hmm... one of things the world may never know...

Inde(party) Day!

This was our very first year to start off the 4th of July with the Peachtree Road Race! Talk about fun! We laced up with 50,000 others to hit the streets of ATL! Let's just say I have a few blisters and a sore you know what! haha...sitting was a big issue for me.. After the race, we headed to the lake to see our families! We had so much fun laying out, playing with sparklers, watching the fireworks, and riding on the boat! It was definitely the cure for my doomsday blues! (see below)

Doomsday

Have you ever had one of those days?? Well, I sure did! I started off going to bed the night before at 4:00 because I was working on a school project. The next morning, I woke up 2 1/2 hours late! omg omg omg! (I HATE being late!) So then, I finally got to school (on time) and by the time I got there, I was already in a frenzy. My teacher then picks on me the whole class...Calling me out for not having my glasses and telling me I need to be more prepared for class! Is this a joke?? I didn't forget my homework or anything ultra important. Then, he proceeded to call me out in front of everyone for the craziest things. Gross. I must add that he did not saying anything to the people who were walking in late or hadnt completed their projects! Right when I stepped out of the class, waterworks. And the worst part about it is that I couldn't stop! I am so embarrassed because my whole class knows I was crying! ugh! I had to force myself to go into my counseling session and get over it. Terrible experience. To simmer myself down, I resorted to girl time! Always does the trick! These next two weeks should be interesting at least! I vow to NEVER take this teacher again! Mark my words!!!! Next time you have one of those days, feel free to come back to this!
